Glove Factory Studios is a unique workspace environment in Holt, Wiltshire, just 9 miles from Bath. Surrounded by acres of rolling countryside, the studios are set in a lovingly restored old industrial tanning and glove-making factory.
Complete with Wild Herb at The Field Kitchen café and Glove Dippers cold-water swimming club, Glove Factory Studios is a place that welcomes contrast, where rural meets urban, work meets play and old meets new. A mini rural rebellion made up of individuals who take to the countryside; not to slow down or escape, but to spread out, breathe freely and make good things happen.
Co-working, dedicated desk, private studios & workspace for thinkers, creators & doers
Sensitively designed workspace, flooded with natural light and set in glorious rural landscape, with all the modern benefits of an urban experience. Superfast broadband, plenty of car parking and health and wellbeing benefits including on-site wild swimming lakes. Reimagining our green and pleasant land.
Our workspaces
Leather factory
After years of planning and restoration consultation, we formed a partnership to bring the adjoining industrial heritage buildings into the Glove Factory Studios umbrella. We are carefully working our way to restoring the buildings to create a wider collection of studio workspaces with garden courtyards between the streetscapes that link the buildings. It is an exciting next chapter in our story.

Heartfelt thanks to Judith Lanyon for sharing a wonderful love story of a film in `No Holds Barred` The Life and Art of her late husband, Matthew Lanyon; a memoir Judith co-directed with Barbara Santi.
Judith installed a few of Matthew`s artworks around the Club Room on the Spring equinox last week and they seemed to magnetically lure the last rays of the day to them as Judith answered questions after the screening.
Judith shared a lasting phrase Matthew would use that epitomised his exuberant nature and optimism, "oh boy, another whole day of me!" deliberately reminiscent of 1950s and 60s comics but 50 years later, when he was fully alive, it was very much meant!

Last night, in perfect unison with a stupendous Spring equinox, these gems of Matthew Lanyon’s work seemed to draw the waning daylight towards themselves in the Club Room.
Judith Lanyon and Barbara Santi co-directed a film about Judith’s late husband. An incredibly moving piece which was an enormous privilege to screen at Glove Factory Studios to a delightful audience of creatives.
We were all struck by a man who held his own in spite of his family’s reputation, with strength and humour. Judith said he’d wake up and say “another day of me”!
And yes, we count ourselves lucky with a capital ‘L’ that we get another day of Matthew before Judith takes these works away with her later today.
Thank you Judith!
And thank you to studio member Mark Ellerby who suggested ‘No Holds Barred’ as a Vespertine Talk.
A seismically memorable event!

"Sometimes when you’ve given up hope, magic happens, thank you so much for this film."

THURSDAY 20 March
6pm
Join us in the Club Room for drinks on arrival and delicious nibbles prepared by @wildherbatthefieldkitchen, before viewing a special film screening of `No Holds Barred` The Life & Art of Matthew Lanyon.
The film raises the question of how to manage the legacy of an artist who died unexpectedly at the height of his powers.
Judith Lanyon, Matthew’s widow, provides a rare insight into the journey of preserving and continuing an artist’s legacy in their absence. Judith will co-host the event and invite any questions after the film.
This award-winning collaboration with Barbara Santi, an experienced, sensitive film maker based in West Cornwall has produced something unusual, ambitious, insightful and deeply moving.
